CSL offers mentoring programs for university students to make a difference in local children's lives (ages 5-18) throughout the academic year. We pair students with youth for mentorship, homework help, and special events.
Big Buddies Youth Mentoring Program
Big Buddies is a child-centered service program that reaches out to the community by providing positive role models for elementary school children from the ages of 6-10 (Little Buddies Program) and middle school children from the ages of 11-14 (Middle Buddies Program).
CHAMPS High School Mentoring Program
(CHAMPS) is a service program that provides high school students with a consistent college role model and friend to help them achieve their goals. Students will experience activities focused on introducing the college experience, learning and building life skills, and career exploration.
Jasper's Corner Homework Help Club
Jasper's Corner provides local elementary through high school students with homework assistance. The program is offered Monday through Thursday, at three locations, tutoring in almost all subjects from 1st grade through 12th grade.
Roots & Shoots
Roots and Shoots is a community action and learning program of the Jane Goodall Institute. Through the program, young people map their communities to identify specific challenges their neighborhoods face. From there, they prioritize the problems, develop a plan for a solution, and take action.
